Staff
The Rev. Caldwell Day began his ministry at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in October 2007. Pastor Day has served parishes in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and South Carolina. He and his wife, Terry, have a son, James, who lives in Murrells Inlet.
Mary Williams - Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary E-mail MaryMary Roach Williams was born and raised in Newberry, South Carolina. She attended Newberry County schools and graduated in 1990 from Newberry High School. She graduated from Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, South Carolina and was a Founder's Scholarship recipient. Mary is married to Blair Williams and has two children, David and Luke. The Williams family resides in Newberry, South Carolina. Mary has worked at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer since February 2001 as the Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary.
Gayle Lindley - Children's, Chime, Handbell, and Senior Choirs Director E-mail GayleGayle Lindley started the Handbell Choirs at Redeemer in 2006. She assumed the position of director of the Senior Choir in April 2008 and the Children's Choir in August 2009. Gayle holds degrees from Lenoir-Rhyne University and The University of Florida. Gayle has one daughter and four grandchildren.
Huger Caughman, Jr. - Organist Huger was born on December 26, 1977. He was raised in Newberry County attending the Prosperity, Rikard, and Mid-Carolina schools graduating in 1996. He attended Newberry College and graduated with honors in May 2000. He has taken graduate courses from Converse College in Spartanburg. Prior to working at Redeemer, Huger was a math teacher at Newberry High School. He began working part-time at the church in January 2004 and started full-time employment on June 7, 2004. Huger's responsibilities include coordinating programming, meeting with various committees for planning, working closely with the Pastor and office staff, overseeing the various ministries of the church, and other duties as assigned. In April 2008, Huger was appointed church organist. In August 2010, Huger resigned his position as Ministries Coordinator and returned to the classroom as an Algebra I teacher at Newberry High School. His hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, traveling, and music.
Kristin began directing the Junior Choir in September 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Newberry College and a Master of Music Education from the University of South Carolina. While in high school, she attended the Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville, SC. Since August 2006, she has been the director of the choral program at Newberry Middle School.
